Isaiah 4:1-2 In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, “We will eat our own food and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!” In that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of the survivors in Israel.
Isaiah Chapter four presents two different scenarios happening on the same day. The first scenario is 4:1-2. They don’t mind being side chicks or side fowls; once they can say, “I have a man,” that is their greatest fulfillment and accomplishment for the day. On that same day, opposite the desperate-for-marriage women’s association, something powerful that is of eternal significance was happening. Those who remained the faithful branch of the Lord were being honored.
John 15:5-6 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire, and burned. John 15 gives us the reason why some seven women are willing to share one man; the reason is simple: they did not abide in the vine, they did not allow themselves to undergo the pruning of the Lord, hence they have been thrown into desperation that leads to eternal destruction. Beloved, the distinguishing factor is abiding in Him, Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Jesus Christ, in these last days, let me be your bride and not focus on the world. As I focus on you, bring me the desired glory in Jesus’ name.
